Why Not? Travel with Marty and Jerry

Last week I wrote my last “official” blog – Time To Say Goodbye. The responses from people were overwhelming and I cried with each note of support and appreciation.  I can’t thank you enough!

So, rather than saying goodbye completely, we can say hello to staying connected in a new way, if you’re interested in following our next adventure.

You see, ever since Jerry and I met in June 2020, we have approached our life and adventures with one question: Why Not? Whether it was “Want to go on a 2nd date?” “Want to move to St. Croix? ” “Want to get married in a hot air balloon?” “Want to see if we can rent our house and travel the world?” WHY NOT? If there were compelling reasons not to take action, we didn’t.

Asking WHY NOT has guided us to some wonderful experiences.

We have one more vacation planned in Spain and Portugal starting this week. When we return to STX, we’ll pack up our home and start our journey and adventure for the next 7 months.

Right now we have nothing planned, which is unnerving to some people – but we’re very comfortable with uncertainty and being flexible, because it opens up new opportunities. While nothing specific is planned, we think we’ll be staying at a variety of places, like VRBOs, Bed and Breakfasts and Agritourisimos like https://www.farmstayplanet.com/.

We are also part of the Trusted House and Pet Sitters program  and we hope to include being a house and pet sitter as part of our experiences and have started applying for two week pet sits in various countries. That will give us a chance to see and be part of communities in a unique way. It will also provide a “sense of normalcy” by staying in a lovely home and caring for a couple pets and tending to a garden.
